The PEOPLE BEHIND ARM-MIP
Before ARM-MIP, the research team behind it designed, synthesized and characterized more than 1,150 alloys in four years through the BIRDSHOT program, with graduate students and postdoctoral researchers preparing every sample by hand. ARM-MIP hands that repetitive work to robots, so Dr. Raymundo Arróyave, Dr. Ibrahim Karaman and their colleagues can spend their time on the questions that decide which alloy gets made next. The 15 faculty and staff below bring experimental and computational materials science, AI, optimization, robotics, digital twinning and visualization, and include two members of the National Academy of Engineering.
